Week 10 Blog Post
This week I chose to listen to "I Shot the Sheriff" by Eric Clapton. This song is really feel good and definitely is a song for chilling on the beach. The song was written by Bob Marley, and I personally like Marley's version better than Clapton's. I feel like Clapton overworks the song and puts way more into his vocals (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), and I feel like Marley is just trying to chill when he is singing the song. The lyrics of the song are really interesting and if you pay attention it is definitely a weird song. The vocals and background singers in the song tie it all together and make the listener feel really good and like dancing. The melody is super catchy and easy to pick up on, so I think this is one of the reasons the song is so popular and is done by so many different artists.
